This tutorial will instruct on how to attach files and/or insert inline images to outgoing emails.
Overview
There are often times emails will require files to be attached or images added to the body of an email in order to convey the appropriate message. This tutorial will assume you are using Gmail and will walk you through the steps of locating and attaching files and/or inserting images to outgoing emails.
Requirements
- Windows Operating System or MacOS
- Gmail user account
Attaching Files
- While inside your gmail account click Compose.
- Locate and click the Attach icon.

- Choose the file or files you wish to attach. If selecting multiple files, hold down ctrl while clicking on each file. If using MacOS hold down command while selecting files.

- Click Open in the bottom right corner of the screen.

- You should now see the files at the bottom of your Gmail message screen.

- If you wish to remove the attachment click the x in the right corner of each attachment.
- Once the message is sent the attached emails will be included.
Inserting Images
- While inside your gmail account click Compose.
- Locate and click the picture icon.

- At the top of the screen click Upload.

- Make sure Insert images are set to Inline so as to have the image appear in the body of the email.

- Click Choose photos to upload.

- Locate the file or files you wish to include. If selecting multiple files, hold down ctrl while clicking on each file. If using MacOS hold down command while selecting files. Now drag files to the photo box.
- An image should now be located inside the message box.
