Power Tools

• Note: **Quick Actions can be found under Extensions (in toolbar), but NOT in the Power Tools sidebar (opened by clicking Start under Power Tools)**

• Quick Actions (most Quick Action options are similar to existing tools found in Google Sheets)

• Change Case - used in Web Name/URL to change URLs to lower case (after editing them in bulk to the correct format from their Product Names)

• Change all text in highlighted cells to “lower case”, “UPPER CASE”, “Sentence case.”, and other options

• Tools (sidebar menu)
              

• Dedupe & Compare

• Remove Duplicate Rows (remove or highlight duplicate rows)

• ***single use only - for extended use, use the “countif” Custom Formula to set Conditional Formatting in column

• Step 1: Set range (typically the full range of cells you are working in)

• Step 2: Choose data to find (typically Duplicates [first option] to only remove/highlight “extras”)

• Step 3: Select column to search

• Step 4: Choose whether to highlight or delete rows with duplicate data

• Merge & Combine

• Merge Values (combine data from separate cells) - used in multiple steps of Adobe Import prep, such as WKSHT: Product Images (Updated v3) to merge URLs into image file names; WKSHT: Adobe SKU/Image Setup to merge image file names & alt tags into Adobe import format; Staging Area In Progress v1 DRAFT to merge configurable/grouped data; and others

• Highlight cells you want to merge
• Choose how to merge the selected values (by row [left to right] or by column [top to bottom])
• Separate values with (symbol, word, or (nothing) to separate merged data – spaces and punctuations may be replaced by a name in brackets in this field)
• Place the results in the (merge direction where results will appear – if the cells on this side are populated, they will be overwritten with the results)
• Options - always “Skip empty cells”; some processes require “Clear the contents of selected cells”
• Click Merge to run the program - results can be reversed with Undo if anything goes awry

• Merge Sheets (transfer info from one sheet/tab to another based on a shared column [SKU or Internal ID]) - used to merge attribute info from specific Att Set tabs to Staging Area In Progress v1 DRAFT for configurable/grouped prep [optional]; can also be used to update information in some sheets based on Adobe exports if needed

• Complicated process - will explain later

• Split

• Split Text (separate text in a cell into multiple cells) - used in Web Name/URL or ULTRA SIMPLIFIED Import WRKSHT v2 to separate matrix parent SKU from the SKU cell of matrix children for import into Adobe (ex. V123 : V123BK BAD; V123BK GOOD)

• Select how you want to separate the data [at every space? At every “ | “? the chosen delimiter will be removed from the results]
• Treat consecutive delimiters as one - always on, in case of doubled delimiters
• Replace source data - will overwrite selected cells [this is fine usually because you will still have the same data, just in multiple cells – and the alternative is creating multiple new columns for separated data]
• Split values to - usually “columns”, since most of our sheets contain similar data in columns
• Click Split to run the program - results can be reversed with Undo if anything goes awry

• Text

• Add (add text to selected cells in a specific position) - used in WKSHT: Adobe SKU/Image Setup to add quotations as field enclosures for Alt Tags before merging

• Enter text that you want to add into data
• Select the position (At the beginning, At the end, or some specific setting if needed)
• Skip empty cells - always on
• Click Add to run the program  - results can be reversed with Undo if anything goes awry
